We start with Emeril Lagasse, 50, Fall River's own celebrity chef.
Lagasse was born and raised in Fall River. As a kid, he worked at a Portuguese bakery before attending Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. He graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 1978, and is now a celebrity chef, restaurateur, television personality, and cookbook author.
The man known simply as Emeril has starred on three TV shows, published 11 cookbooks and owns 10 restaurants, together generating an estimated $150 million annually. Today he hosts "Emeril Green" on the Planet Green channel. His new program, "The Emeril Lagasse Show," is scheduled to debut on Ion next month.

Members of Red Sox Nation know Jerry Remy, 57, was born in Fall River. The sports broadcaster and former Sox second-baseman grew up in Somerset and now lives in Weston. Remy was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2006. He's been a commentator for NESN since 1988.
